Privacy Policy
This policy explains how iGears Technology Limited handles personal information through igears.ca and its Canadian services. We limit collection to information reasonably needed for stated purposes and provide ways to request access or correction. Our practices are guided by applicable Canadian privacy laws, including Alberta’s PIPA and PIPEDA where it applies.
What we collect
When you contact iGears through this website, by email, phone, WhatsApp or the quotation form, we receive the information you choose to provide, such as your name, contact details, organization and enquiry. The quotation form composes an email in your own mail application; the website does not store the form contents when you use that email-only path.
Why we use it
We identify why information is needed at or before collection and collect only what is reasonably necessary. We use information to respond to enquiries, prepare quotations, deliver and support contracted services, operate and secure the website, prevent abuse and meet legal, accounting or contractual obligations. If we propose a materially different use, we will request consent unless applicable law permits or requires that use.
Website analytics and server logs
This site uses Google Analytics 4 to measure visits and website interactions. Depending on browser settings, it may process cookies or similar identifiers, IP-derived approximate location, device and browser details, referral source, pages viewed and interactions. We use these reports to improve the site, not for third-party advertising. The site’s core content remains available if analytics is blocked. Server logs record technical requests for security, abuse prevention and reliability.
The free GEO audit
If you use the GEO audit, the website address you submit is fetched to generate a report. A short-term record of audited addresses and technical request data may be kept to prevent abuse and operate the service. We do not use the tool to promise search or AI-assistant ranking, inclusion or citation.
Service providers and processing locations
Our Canadian delivery team works with our Hong Kong engineering team, and some service providers may process information in other jurisdictions. Information processed outside Canada may be subject to the laws of that jurisdiction. We remain responsible for personal information under our control and use contractual, organizational and technical safeguards appropriate to the information. Canadian data-residency options can be scoped for client projects, but they are not a blanket statement about every website or service system.
Retention and safeguards
We retain personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the identified purpose and applicable legal, accounting, security or contractual requirements. It is then securely deleted or anonymized. We use administrative, technical and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information, although no internet-based system can be guaranteed completely secure.
Your choices
Subject to applicable law, you may ask whether we hold personal information about you, request access or correction, withdraw consent, or ask us to delete information that is no longer required. Legal or contractual limits may apply.
Commercial electronic messages
A quotation, support or contact request allows us to reply about that request; it does not subscribe you to unrelated marketing. Where we send commercial electronic messages, we rely on consent or another basis permitted by Canada’s anti-spam legislation (CASL), identify iGears and provide current contact information, maintain appropriate consent records, and include a working unsubscribe mechanism. You may unsubscribe at any time; operational messages concerning an active request or service may still be sent where permitted.
Privacy contact
Send privacy questions, access or correction requests and complaints to info@igears.ca with “Privacy” in the subject line, or write to iGears Technology Limited, #307, 9488 51 Avenue, Edmonton, AB T6E 5A6, Canada.
